| Over $600,000.00 has been awarded
since the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras was chartered in 1980.
An endowment fund has been
established. Donations specified for Scholarships are directed to
that fund.
South Valley Bank handles the
Scholarship funds.
SCHOLARSHIP FACILITATION
Scholarship applications are available to any graduating senior
living within the geographical boundaries of Morgan Hill Unified
School District. This district has the largest loading area in the
state. The boundaries go from Gilroy in the south, include San Martin
and go into south San Jose and into Almaden Valley.
The scholarships are open to public and private
school students including students of Central High. Community Adult
Education students also have the opportunity to apply for funds
towards their undergraduate degree. |
Notification of the availability
of the Morgan Hill Mushroom Mardi Gras scholarship applications
goes to all counseling staff at Morgan Hill Unified School District
high school and is also advertised in the Morgan Hill Times for
any private school students.
Application due date is Wednesday, April
4th. Deliver completed application to 224 Tennant Station
or 305 Vineyard Town Cntr., PMB #184. After applications are screened
by a review committee, finalists are notified and interview appointments
are arranged.
The scholarship recipients
are notified and presented with a certificate.
Scholarship recipients may
participate at the Mushroom Mardi Gras Festival by acting as Goodwill
Ambassadors at the Hospitality and Information Booths and by volunteering
their time during set up and break down of the festival.
Recipients may collect their
monies at William Brown, Attorney at Law's office in Morgan Hill
by presenting receipts confirming enrollment and expenses at school. |
